Job Description:
The University at Albany's Office of Communications and Marketing
(OCM) is seeking an experienced Marketing and Web Analyst. This
position will report to the Associate Director of Marketing and
will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data and providing
both quantitative and qualitative insights that inform actionable
recommendations for the larger marketing strategy of the
University. The Marketing and Web Analyst will create actionable
reports that will assist in developing the strategy for the website
optimizations and advertising and marketing campaigns. Candidates
should possess an in-depth knowledge of web and marketing
analytics. By analyzing and reporting on campaign effectiveness,
gathering insights from research, and mining website data using
analytics and tracking platforms, this role will significantly
contribute to the development of data-driven marketing
strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate the effectiveness and performance of the UAlbany website
utilizing Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to assist the web team in
ongoing efforts to improve search engine optimization (SEO).
Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and advertising campaigns
by analyzing key performance metrics such as conversion rates,
click-through rates, completion rates and more against campaign
spend and overall budget.
Generate and share regular analytics reports on web and campaign
performance, highlighting key metrics and trends and offering
suggestions for optimizations.
Understand and be able to assist in the implementation of industry
best practices specific to web and advertising spaces, which means
constantly learning and staying up to date on the changing
landscape of web and marketing.
Work with outside vendors and contractors to execute effective
media buys.

Job Requirements:
Knowledge of marketing; analytics and tools to conduct analysis for
both marketing and web.
Proficiency in industry best practices.
Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to
communicate effectively across units and internally.
Applicants must address the ability to work with culturally diverse
populations in their application.
Self-starter; ability to work independently and in a fast-paced
environment, managing multiple projects at once.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, analytics or related field from a
college or University accredited by the US Department of Education
or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
2-4 years of experience in marketing and web analytics to include
experience with web, advertising and social media analytics tools
and campaign management suites (e.g., GA4, Google Tag Manager,
Google Search Console, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign
Manager, etc.).
2-4 years of experience analyzing marketing data (campaign results,
conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing
strategy.
2-4 years of experience creating regular metrics and analytics
reports on web and campaign performance that include suggestions
for optimizations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a higher education marketing setting.
Master's degree from a college or University accredited by the US
Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting
organization.
Experience with Tableau or similar software.
Professional development certifications, such as Google Data
Analytics certification
Additional Information:
Professional Rank and Salary Grade: SL-3, $62,000-$67,000
