Disciplinary Area: The Department of Nursing at Hartwick College
invites applications and nominations for two full-time faculty
positions for a new, online graduate degree program starting in
January 2022 :
Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions (2) for our
new and innovative Master of Science in Nursing Education and
Advanced Study Certificate in Nursing Education programs. Academic
preparation as a nurse educator and previous online teaching at the
graduate level are required. Teaching load will average 20 semester
Specific teaching assignments may include courses in
pathophysiology/pharmacology, health assessment, and educational
theory in addition to the core educator courses. The successful
candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in
graduate teaching, and in working closely with distance
Tenure-track faculty are expected to actively engage in scholarly
or creative activities. Committee service, including campus wide
and departmental governance, and academic advising are expected for
re-appointment, tenure, and promotion.
Minimum qualifications for these positions include a Ph.D., Ed.D.,
or DNS, in Nursing or closely-related field and a MS, MA, or MSN in
Nursing Education at the time of the appointment. Those with an MS,
MA, or MSN in Nursing Education, who are actively pursuing a
doctorate and with extensive teaching experience will be
considered. Qualified candidates must possess an unencumbered NYS
RN license and have recent relevant clinical or educational
experience and certification. Tenure-track faculty members must
complete a doctoral degree by the time tenure is awarded.
Preference will be given to applicants with a doctorate in nursing
or a closely-related field, at least three years of full-time
graduate level classroom and distance/on-line teaching experience
and additional areas of nursing specialization.
