Job Description Job Description Description: Job Summary The Metal Finisher’s primary responsibility is grinding and polishing materials to the desired specifications while maintaining the quality and integrity of the product. Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Polishes, grinds, and cleans metal surfaces. · Removes excess weld as needed. · Cleans welds to remove discoloration. · Removes sharp edges by deburring. · Performs minor final assembly work. · Performs final inspection to ensure product conformance to internal and external standards. · Work with measuring tools and other equipment to verify the dimensions, tolerances, and other critical features of the product. · Actively keeps the work area clean and organized · Maintains tools and tooling inventory. · Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner, without exposing yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury. · Follows all ASMIE and safety procedures/guidelines to ensure a safe work environment including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and using appropriate safety equipment and tools. · Collaborate with other team members, such as Fabricators and welders, to ensure tanks are produced to the required specifications and quality standards. · All other duties as assigned. Requirements: Job Qualifications and Minimum Requirements Knowledge of principles and processes of grinding stainless steel. Grinding and finishing of stainless steel to specific standards. Use of power tools such as grinder, drill, polisher, belt sander, etc. Blueprint reading and layout practices. Use of common measuring tools. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to setup and troubleshoot common grinding equipment. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Working Conditions This position routinely operates in a medium-noise, non-climate controlled facility with regular exposure to dust and residue. Machinery is present and in operation. Hours of work are determined based on shift.
