Statement of Duties:The Director of LGBT Health and Human Services
is responsible for the overall Health Services for the organization
such as advocacy, mental health, youth services, group
facilitation, training & technical assistance, event coordination,
and program evaluation.Responsibilities:Demonstrate a commitment to
the mission of In Our Own Voices,Serve as the day-to-day supervisor
and primary contact of the youth LGBTQ drop-in space on and
off-site.End-of-Year Program Evaluation and Comprehensive
Community-Wide Pulse Check SurveyAssist with client intakes and
assessments as needed.Oversight of staff that conduct client
intakes and assessments. Ensure staff are providing individuals
with short and long-term health navigation, as well as supportive
counseling using low-threshold,nonjudgmental, and culturally
relevant methodologies. Modify documentation tools and reporting
systems.Provide face-to-face and online outreach in underserved
areas and venues accessed by the target community for program
promotion and enrollment.Work closely with the Special Events
Coordinator on BIPOC Pride, UTD LGBT POC Health Conference, and
other health services-related events.Lead monthly quality assurance
activities, including oversight documentation, outreach data
collection, and program goals as directed by our funders.Supervise
the LGBT Program CoordinatorCollaborate with COBs and attend
appropriate local meetings to represent and present program
activities and to seek out current information about disease
prevention, treatment, and care.Participate in the planning and
outreach of all IOOV events and projects.Ensure all accomplished
activities of the position are entered into appropriate databases,
including a monthly AIRS extract.Submit documentation and reports
in compliance with project requirements, as well as provide monthly
reports and submit monthly articles for the newsletter *Ensure
confidentiality law requirements are incorporated into all aspects
of programming.Develop marketing and promotional materials to be
used both internally and externally to promote
services.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in public health, social
work, or mental health-related field preferred; relevant experience
may be substituted given expertise.Minimum of three years of
Training and Technical Assistance experienceMinimum of five-year
human services experience; outreach, education, or case management
experience.Familiarity with High Impact Prevention and other LGBTQ
healthcare service provision.Bilingual (Spanish) plus and
preferredMinimum of three years of management/supervisory
experienceMust be a leader, team player, and able to work
effectively with a large variety of personalities and abilitiesMust
be familiar with and believe in a harm-reduction philosophyMust be
able to work flexible hours (including after-hours and
weekends)Valid, unrestricted driver's license and independent means
of transportation for travel per program needs.Ability to
communicate and present to the public effectively, both verbally
and in writingBilingual and multicultural people identifying with
the LGBTQ, Latin@, or African American community are strongly
encouraged to apply.Required Knowledge and Skills: Strong time
management and organizational skills, self-directed ability to
navigate and work with a variety of personalities and work ethics,
solution-oriented, excellent verbal and written communication
skills, proficiency in data collection and reporting.Physical
Demands/Activities: Constant computer work such as typing, looking
at a computer screen, long periods of sitting at a desk must be
able to lift 15lbs, minimum physical effort including walking,
standing, bending, and getting in and out of cars.Working
Condition: Office environment and some off-site (indoor/outdoor)
eventsMultiple interruptions and/ or distractions from telephone,
