Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Position SummaryThe Deputy Administrative Officer will assist the ChiefAdministrative Officer in leading and overseeing the Division ofAdministration. The Division is responsible for Human Resources,Budget and Analytics and Project Management.Job Duties:Oversight of the Human Resources functions which include theareas of recruitment, benefits, training and development and laborand employee relationsOversight of the development and administration of the System'soperating budget, business plan and performance measuresOversight of data analytics performed in support ofDivision/System planning effortsOversight of the NYSTRS project management functionStrategic Planning as it relates to human and fiscal resourcesnecessary to support the mission and vision of the System and thecontinual improvement of each functional area within thedivisionOversight of System workforce planning effortsMaking presentations to all levels of the organization,including the BoardOversight and leadership for special projects Other duties as requiredMinimum QualificationsSeven years of experience at the managerial level withresponsibility for one or more administrative functions (i.e.Legal, Budget, Human Resources) for a complex organizationconsisting of at least 300 employeesOrA bachelor's degree and five years of experience at themanagerial level with responsibility for one or more administrativefunctions (i.e. Legal, Budget, Human Resources) for a complexorganization consisting of at least 300 employeesPreferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in business or public administration or arelated field or a law degreeExperience interpreting and applying law rule andregulationExcellent interpersonal skillsKnowledge and understanding of Human Resource principles andpracticesKnowledge and understanding of Budgeting principles andpracticesKnowledge and understanding of Project Management principlesand practicesExperience working in a leadership capacity for a public sectororganizationAbility to build strong working relationships across all levelsof the organization and work effectively with othersProven record of taking initiative/self-starterAbility to effectively lead and strengthen teamsStrategic thinker committed to proactive identification ofsolutions and improvementsAbility to work collaboratively across all departments toachieve system-wide objectivesStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic andcomplex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirementsPossess discretion in handling sensitive and confidentialinformationStrong analytical skills with attention to detailStrong decision-making and problem-solving skillsAbility to speak to and present information to a wide varietyof audiences, including at the Board levelCommitment to providing exceptional customer serviceSalary Range$120,952 to $167,836
