Prospect Health are proud to be working alongside a well-established privately owned, family run small animal Hospital who are currently looking for an Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. The practice has been recently renovated and now has a very modern feel, along with all the state-of-the-art equipment you would expect.Emergency doctors have access to on-call consultations with board-certified specialists in internal medicine, dermatology, and surgery. Laboratory, digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound, and CT available on site. Work with a caring and dedicated staff in a small family atmosphere. Ideal candidate has great leadership and communication skills with staff and clients. Empathy and a passion for excellent veterinary medicine and patient care are required. This opportunity is in a major metropolitan area close to the airport with great schools, recreation opportunities, shopping, and restaurants.If you are passionate about emergency work, outgoing and motivated to work with excellent clients that take excellent care of their pets, then we want to hear from you.Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet's problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.Stay up to date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings.Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.Key Duties

• Evaluate and manage both medical and trauma patients with acute and chronic conditions.
• Interpret diagnostic studies including x-ray, MRI/CT EKG, urinalysis, and venepuncture results
• Provide emergency care for acute coronary syndrome, loss of consciousness, acute infection, and multiple traumas
• Work as an emergency and critical care veterinarian at an overnight and weekend emergency hospital
• Treat and dress wounds, set fractures, and perform surgery.
• Provide critical care for companion animals while they recover from illness, injury, or invasive surgery
• Provide cutting edge medicine as an emergency veterinarian in a speciality and referral hospital
• Support community organizations/humane society organizations in their rabies, immunization, spay and neuter and pet adoption programs
• Supervise laboratory testing, reagent selection and flock management staff for in-house SPF poultry operationsPackage and Benefits
