Medical Intensive Care Unit & S tepdown The Advanced Practitioner
in t he Medical Intensive Care Unit & Step Down will join the
Division of Pulmonary in a team of established critical care
advanced practitioners . The advanced practitioner will also
provide as a consult service for stepdown and medical ICU
admissions in the emergency department . The Advanced Practitioners
in this group use their extensive critical care knowledge to
provide direct care to complex critically ill patients requiring
multiple technologies and advanced life support. Advanced
Practitioners will practice in a collaborative environment with an
intensivist, attending physicians, and other highly skilled members
of the healthcare team . Advanced practitioners are provided with
ongoing medical education, procedural training and opportunity for
growth within the Department of Pulmonary . Cover MICU and SD for a
24/ 7 APP run service Consult on patients in the emergency
department requiring admission to a medical critical care unit
Collaborate with attending pulmonary critical care physicians on
daily rounds to formulate complex patient care plans Perform
bedside procedures including but not limited to: central line
placement, arterial line placement, advanced ultrasonography
ACLS/BLS certified Extensive new graduate onboarding including a
4-6 month orientation with dedicated time for learning in Hartford
Hospital Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation Shift:
Days with rotation to nights, weekends and holidays - 13 hour
shifts, 3 Days a week. Full-Time (40hrs ) Advanced Practitioners

Practitioner Requirements: Nurse Practitioners (APRN) positions
require National certification in Advanced Practice, MSN, and
current CT Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) certification.
Physician Assistants (PA) positions require current CT Physician
Assistants (PA) License and Board certification or eligible. All
disciplines require the demonstrated ability to positively interact
with medical and nursing staff. Critical Care experience preferred
