Job Description:
Job Description Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC), an
Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility,
is currently recruiting overnight Licensed Social Workers for their
Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU). Overnight shift is from 11:00 pm to
7:30 am with a rotating weekend schedule. The CIU provides 24-hour
crisis response to children, adolescents, and adults in the Capital
Region. Individuals can be referred by a mobile crisis team, law
enforcement, outpatient clinics, local hospitals, or individuals
can self-present in a time of crisis. Licensed Social Workers will
collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to triage and assess
individuals in a psychiatric emergency room setting including:
Completing psychiatric assessments with a Physician to determine if
the individual would benefit from inpatient psychiatric
hospitalization. Providing verbal de-escalation and participating
in interventions as needed. Triaging phone calls and providing
telephonic crisis response. Securing inpatient bed for individuals
in need and facilitating transfers. Working with insurance
companies to gain preauthorization for inpatient hospitalization.
Connecting individuals to outpatient services at the time of
discharge. Assisting in training and orientation of new staff

Licensed and currently registered as a Licensed Master Social
Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. Additional
