Job Description Pharmacist (Shift Differential) Work Location: 12 Interstate Ave, Albany, NY 12205, USA Schedule: • Hours per Day: 8 • Hours per Week: 40 • Shift: 7-on / 7-off, 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM Position Overview The Pharmacist ensures safe, effective, and compliant dispensing of medications while providing patient-centered consultation and supervising pharmacy operations during overnight shifts. Key Responsibilities • Accept and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal law • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns • Ensure prescribed medicines are clinically appropriate and legally compliant • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files • Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and storage • Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications • Deliver patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management • Educate patients on proper use of medical devices (blood pressure monitors, glucose meters) • Compound medications for internal and external use; prepare sterile solutions per protocol • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks • Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies • Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Qualifications • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required • Licensure: Active New York State Pharmacist License • Experience: Prior pharmacy practice experience preferred; supervisory experience a plus • Skills: Strong clinical judgment, patient counseling, inventory management, and team leadership.
