The Surg Tech will play a vital role in supporting surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use, and maintaining a safe and efficient surgical environment. This position is ideal for professionals who excel in fast-paced procedural settings and are committed to delivering exceptional perioperative care. Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred (NBSTSA) Minimum 1 year of recent operating room experience in a hospital or surgical center Strong understanding of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room safety protocols Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and adapt quickly during complex or emergent procedures Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills BLS certification required Responsibilities: Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly sterilized and set up Assist surgeons and perioperative teams during procedures by passing instruments, retracting tissues, and managing sterile supplies Maintain strict sterile technique and monitor for any breaks in sterility throughout the procedure Anticipate surgeon needs and adjust quickly to procedural changes Handle surgical specimens appropriately and ensure accurate labeling and transport Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment such as suction devices, electrocautery units, and powered instruments Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts in collaboration with the circulating nurse to ensure patient safety Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent surgical cases Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, circulating nurses, and other OR team members to ensure efficient workflow and safe patient outcomes SnapCare Benefits: End of Shift Payments Medical, dental, vision, life, disability Guaranteed Hours Why work for SnapCare: Get end-of-shift pay through our Paymint app. Enjoy comprehensive benefits that cover medical, dental, vision care and more.
