X-Ray Supervisor- Monday - Friday 700 am- 300 pm Title: Diagnostic
Supervisor Reports To: Medical Imaging Operations Manager DUTIES
and RESPONSIBLITIES: In addition to the basic job description for
Medical Imaging's Leadership Team, the Diagnostic Supervisor
position specifically includes the following responsibilities:
Daily Operations: •Provides oversight of daily operations in
Diagnostic Imaging •Serves as Radiologist liaison for issues
regarding quality, safety, and adjustments to protocols •Maintains
monthly schedule for x-ray department at two imaging locations for
eleven FTE's •Evaluates PTO requests with regard to availability of
backfill to maintain volume •Secures staff coverage during short
staffing times •Monitors and orders supplies for two imaging sites
•Performs initial investigation/data collections for timely
resolution of patient complaints •Audits billing/charges as
appropriate- contacts finance with billing corrections and requests
creation of new charge codes as needed •Manages equipment issues in
a timely manner •Escalates issues to Operations Manager or Director
in a timely manner, as appropriate Staffing Oversight: •Assists
Operations Manager with interviewing and selecting new diagnostic
x-ray employees •Prepares 30/90 day initial evaluations for new
hires, and annual performance evaluations for 19 employees
•Maintains oversight of the Image Quality program which includes at
least annual image quality specific evaluations for all
technologists performing x-rays, including follow up training,
plans of correction, and documentation as appropriate in the event
of quality issues •Develops in-services and training for diagnostic
x-ray staff •Utilizes Net Learning and iSolved systems reporting
capabilities to ensure diagnostic x-ray staff remain in compliance
with mandatory SLM's, annual health requirements, competencies,
NYSDOH licensure, and BLS •Provides communication to existing, new,
and per-diem diagnostic x-ray staff regarding department and
organization wide information, changes, policies, and staff
compliance •In collaboration with MI Operations Manager, executes
appropriate Plans of Correction to address violations of policies,
Standards of Behavior and/or Standards of Performance, and provides
coaching, documentation, and recommendations of further
disciplinary actions as needed. NYSDOH Related Duties: •Maintains
regulatory equipment logs and schedules preventative and emergency
maintenance on eleven pieces of imaging equipment in accordance
with manufacturers' recommendations and NYSDOH requirements.
•Maintains QC, QA, department policies, radiation badge readings,
and all other required documentation in a state of "inspection
readiness" with regard to diagnostic x-ray requirements for NYSDOH
and HFAP surveys. •In conjunction with Operations Manager,
completes biennial NYSDOH surveys at two x-ray locations with no
avoidable major citations. Other Roles: •Serves as clinical
instructor for Mohawk Valley Community College Radiologic
Technology program •Serves as PACS system, CR , C-Arm, Portable,
and Fixed digital x-ray super user •Serves as "system downtime"
point person and has a full working understanding of recovery
procedures to return to "uptime" status •Serves as point person for
Medical Imaging Department in absence of Director and Operations
Manager, escalating issues to VP, MI Department Chairman, and/or
Nursing Supervisor as appropriate. Committees and Meetings: •Serves
on the Radiation and MRI Safety Committee, providing repeat/reject
analysis data and addressing other issues related to radiation
safety and diagnostic x-ray •Attends and provides meaningful input
at monthly MI Leadership meeting •Prepares report for and attends
Daily Huddle in absence of MI Operations Manager or Dept Director
•Attends or participates in other meetings or workgroups in a
meaningful way, as assigned by Operations Manager or Dept Director
Demonstrates Excellence and Leadership •Leads by example with
regard to Standards of Behavior and Standards of Performance.
•Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communications skills
with all stakeholders: patients, staff, and providers.
•Demonstrates interest in, and understanding of, growth, revenue,
opportunities, and challenges •Serves as diagnostic x-ray champion
for modality specific, MI department specific, or organization-wide
performance improvement initiatives •Participates in and
contributes to MI department and organization wide voluntary
activities (parade, wellness fairs, community events) on an ongoing
basis •Demonstrates superior technical quality as evidenced by
annual image quality evaluation and ongoing feedback by
Radiologists. • Maintains proficiency with and serves as trainer
for specialty exams per needs of department (bone density,
interventional procedures, OR) •Provides valuable input for staff
retention and recruitment •Provides valuable input for new
proposals •Provides valuable input for budgetary purposes
