Job Description Job Description Job Title: Mental Health Therapy Aide – Children & Adolescent Psychiatry Location: Syracuse, New York Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Schedule Shift: Day Shift Schedule: 3 shifts per week Hours per Shift: 12 hours Total Weekly Hours: 36 hours Weekends: Required Position Summary A healthcare organization in Syracuse, NY is seeking a compassionate and dependable Mental Health Therapy Aide for a 13-week assignment supporting a Children and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit . This role is essential in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and assisting clinical staff with patient care activities. Key Responsibilities Support pediatric and adolescent psychiatric patients with daily activities and therapeutic programming Assist clinical staff in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive treatment environment Monitor patient behavior and report changes or concerns to the clinical team Assist with de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention as directed Ensure adherence to safety protocols and unit policies Participate in milieu management and therapeutic group activities Document observations and patient interactions per facility guidelines Required Qualifications Previous experience in a mental health, behavioral health, or psychiatric setting preferred Experience working with children and adolescents strongly preferred Strong communication, interpersonal, and observational skills Ability to work weekends and 12-hour shifts Dependable, professional, and team-oriented For more details reach at ukhan@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 518-862-1204.
