registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years RN experience
required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not
be considered. A registered nurse with stepdown and telemetry
experience is needed for a contract position in a mixed acuity unit
managing Progressive Care Unit (PCU), telemetry, and
medical-surgical patients. This role requires a minimum of one year
of recent PCU/Intermediate Care (IMC) experience within the last
three years. The patient care ratios vary according to acuity
levels, ensuring focused, high-quality care. Qualifications and
Desired Experience: Minimum 1 year PCU/IMC experience within the
last 3 years RN licensure Skills in telemetry MS,
PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown care Proficiency in interpreting and managing
dysrhythmias, post-MI care Experience with IV insulin protocols,
insulin drip titration Feeding tube and continuous bladder
irrigation care Renal failure patient management Central line, PICC
line, peripheral line care and starting IVs Blood product
administration and heparin protocols Management of cardiac drips
(with and without titration), PCA, thrombolytic agents usage Care
for patients with CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal
Orthopedic trauma and post-surgical care including total joint
replacement, mastectomy, traction, chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC,
tracheostomy and non-invasive airway management Wound care and
wound vacuum assistance Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
(NIHSS) Preferred: PALS and TCAR certifications Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care for PCU and telemetry medical-surgical
patients, including pre and post-surgical cases across various
specialties Maintain patient safety and comfort using EPIC for
documentation, Pyxis for medication dispensing, and utilizing SBAR
communication tools Work night shifts (3 x 12 hours from 7 PM to 7
AM), with weekend coverage every other week Float among sister
units (West 2, West 3, Observation) as required Adhere to patient
care ratios (day: 1:3-5; night: 1:3-6) Participate in an
orientation process tailored to unit-specific workflows
