Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare institution combining a top-tier hospital with a cutting-edge medical college, is seeking a Clinical Nurse II for our General Surgery/Trauma department. This role is pivotal in delivering expert care during night shifts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for surgical and trauma care, demonstrating proficiency in managing post-operative patients and those with severe injuries, aligning with our commitment to excellence in patient outcomes and medical education. Provide nursing care to patients with surgical and traumatic injuries, ensuring adherence to best practices and hospital protocols. Monitor patient recovery, managing pain and other post-operative symptoms with appropriate interventions. Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to plan and evaluate patient care. Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care and health management. Maintain accurate patient records, and contribute to wound care management. Expertise in surgical and trauma nursing Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments Strong communication and teamwork skills Proficiency in using medical software and patient care technology Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) qualifications preferred.
