Albany Medical Center, a leader in healthcare innovation combining stellar hospital care with advanced medical education and research, is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse II to join our South Clinical Campus Operating Room team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic and collaborative surgical environment. The Clinical Nurse II is expected to utilize depth of experience in nursing to ensure best practices in preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative procedures within our state-of-the-art facilities. Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Assist in surgical operations under strict sterile conditions and adhere to infection control protocols. Monitor patient’s vital signs and administer medications during surgeries. Educate patients and their families on surgical processes and postoperative care. Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate patient treatment plans. Strong clinical skills with a focus on surgical and sterile processing techniques. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to respond quickly and efficiently in critical situations. Capacity for standing and operating in a physically demanding environment. Medical Insurance Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification preferred.
