Albany Medical Center, a pioneering institution in healthcare that integrates top-tier hospital care with an advanced medical college, is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse III to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This position plays a crucial role in the postoperative phase by providing acute care and closely monitoring patients who are recovering from anesthesia. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and driven to provide exceptional patient care. This role demands a high level of proficiency in postoperative care and the ability to respond swiftly and effectively to patient needs. Monitor post-anesthesia patients and assess levels of consciousness, pain levels, and vital signs. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor responses. Provide care for patients recovering from general, regional, and local anesthesia. Educate patients and their families about post-procedure care and any potential complications. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other medical professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Ensure all medical equipment used in the PACU is functioning correctly. Maintain accurate patient records and document all care provided. Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills. Strong ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical teams. Proficiency in managing multiple patients with varying health statuses. Knowledge of anesthesia recovery standards and protocols. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification preferred.
