Job Description:

Albany Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)/Neurological Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) in providing exceptional care to patients with critical surgical and neurological conditions. This position will involve a 36-hour work week exclusively during night shifts, supporting both units' needs. Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the SICU and Neuro ICU. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, to plan and implement patient care strategies. Monitor patient conditions continuously, respond to medical emergencies, and provide immediate interventions. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and health management post-discharge. Manage patient documentation and maintain accurate records in compliance with hospital protocols. Participate in ongoing educational opportunities to stay abreast of advancements in SICU and Neuro ICU care. Advanced knowledge of critical care nursing practices and standards. Proficiency in the use of medical monitoring equipment and electronic health records. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Medical Insurance Life Insurance Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of employment. Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred, but not required.
