Orthopedic Practice near East Carolina University Medical School Building Service Line The group is looking for an employed orthopedic surgeon that will be comfortable with performing all total joint procedures. Ties to eastern North Carolina and comfort with a rural setting are both pluses. The position is a traditional orthopedic surgical practice that serves both outpatients and inpatients. Competitive compensation plan that includes relocation assistance, commencement Bonus and School Loan repayment, Health & Malpractice Insurance, 401K and Non-Qualified Investment Program, paid CME and time off and SME at the Hospital. Hospital is a 50 bed Acute Care facility and is fully accredited from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Facility provides full range of inpatient and outpatient services including: a state-of-the-art Intensive Care facility, Rural Health Clinics, a 24-hour Emergency Department, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Midwifery Services, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary Services, Complete Surgery Facilities, Telemedicine and Physical and Occupational Therapy and Telemedicine. Location offers excellent public schools and is close to East Carolina University Medical Schools. The community is located in the northeast Coastal Plain of North Carolina, just ninety-eight miles from North Carolina's Outer Banks and Atlantic Ocean. More than twenty creeks and streams slowly meander through the countryside emptying into the Roanoke River, eventually reaching the Albemarle Sound. Greenville, home of East Carolina University and East Carolina School of Medicine is an easy twenty-five mile drive to the southwest. Martin County is mainly agrarian and has a population of 25,000. Several communities in the county including Historic Hamilton, downtown Williamston, Farm Life Community and downtown Robersonville are on the National Historic Register. Numerous other sites and districts in Martin County have been selected for the National Historic Register. EDUCATION The Martin County Public Schools system has thirteen schools throughout the county that serve five thousand students in grades K through 12. During the past school year each high school was awarded Exemplary Status by the North Carolina ABC's program. There are four high schools and nine middle, elementary and primary schools. Northwoods Collegiate School, a private school, offers preschool through grade nine. The Martin County Board of Education supports small class size and its standard class size is three students less than the state allotment. Nearly eighty percent of the graduates continue their education at community colleges, technical schools or universities. Students can pursue undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies at East Carolina University in Greenville, an easy 28-mile drive from Williamston.
