K2Share's Federal Business Intelligence Team is seeking a Data Engineer with extensive experience and primary focus in the Microsoft Power tool stack (Power BI, Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate). The candidate must have a proven track record of utilizing the Microsoft Power tool stack including SharePoint, to develop highly innovative, efficient, and minimalist solutions for cleaning, transforming, combining, and automating many disparate datasets of varying degrees of data quality, including unstructured data, into consumable pipelines and formats for Power BI report building.

Primary Responsibilities:

The position will drive and support data visualization services for cybersecurity risk management across our federal client base. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, who is equally capable of working independently with minimal oversight as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplined BI team. The candidate must have strong critical thinking skills with the ability to define, capture, interpret and translate vague client business needs through context and an understanding of the big picture into highly specific technical requirements for development. You should have proven experience and be extremely comfortable utilizing a minimalist toolset to develop highly innovative solutions of automating complex, manual/semi-automated ETL processes. You thrive in a highly challenging environment and love finding unique ways to solve complex Data Engineering/BI problems with minimal resources. The ideal candidate should possess a strong design aesthetic for building highly consumable Power BI reports and dashboards. You will collaborate directly with our federal clients throughout the development process to identify and refine requirements, develop wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes, obtain client feedback, and provide analysis and insights to allow the customer to make data-driven decisions. Additional responsibilities include maintaining system documentation, developing job aids and SOPs, and providing end-user training and troubleshooting support.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • 5+ years of focused experience in utilizing the Microsoft Power Stack (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Query) to create and develop and maintain data pipelines and build complex reports and dashboards
  • 3+ years of focused experience primarily utilizing M and DAX to conduct challenging data transformations and build complex KPIs and measures within Power BI reports
  • 3+ years of focused experience building user friendly, easily consumable Power BI reports and dashboards with a strong design aesthetic that is client-driven
  • Project management experience within an Agile environment from product conception to release
  • Client-facing experience in a consulting environment among mid-level to senior leadership.
  • Highly efficient time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience supporting US Government Federal clients.
    • Knowledge of general cybersecurity concepts and terms.
    • Knowledge of NIST Special Publications relating to cybersecurity risk management (i.e., SP 800-53).

      Education:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Data Analysis, MIS, or equivalent from an accredited institution
      • Technical Certifications or ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment such as:

        • Microsoft Certified Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
        • Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate
        • Microsoft Certified Power Platform Developer Associate
        • Microsoft Certified Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate



          Security Clearances: Must hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, a Federal Security Clearance.

          Work Environment: This job operates in a well-lit and temperature-controlled office environment. In this role, there will be standard office equipment such as phones, computers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

          An employee in this role must remain in a stationary position 75% of the time and will occasionally need to move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
