Provide active support to the respective Business units of Deutsche Bank Netherlands on the New Client Adoption (NCA) process. This includes execution of the Global and Local KYC requirements and to facilitate services on processes that are complex, variable in nature, requires high level of accuracy and could be time-dependent. This all requires contact with key stakeholders internally as well as our client basis with the overall goal to ensure compliance with the KYC standards.

Role summary

The primary focus of the NCA SME is to provide subject-matter-expertise support towards the NCA Team head and the NCA team on all knowledge elements of DB's KYC framework. The NCA SME has around 2+ years of experience within KYC subject-matter expertise activities and has a very extensive understanding of DB's Global and Local KYC Framework (Policy & Key-Operating Standards).

In practice, this means the NCA SME share their knowledge pro-actively by educating new staff on the KYC Key Operating Standard and KYC artefacts, such as the local addendum which includes local law requirements. Moreover, knowledge sharing is provided to existing staff on new requirements, changing content or on those topics which require improvement. The elements on room for improvement are identified and determined by NCA SME through collecting information and feedback from Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), Global KYC training team and neutral assessments performed by AFC. Due to the extensive knowledge of the KYC framework, the NCA SME does also act as a first point of escalation towards NCA KYC analysts on KYC content matters. Within this context, the NCA SME do play an important role within the KYC knowledge process to assess and monitor whether NCA KYC analysts can work independently within Quality Control process.

In addition, NCA SME's are actively working on and owning the development of NCA KYC content. The NCA SME provide pro-active support to global stakeholders on development of NCA KYC documentation by sharing their experiences on what works well and what KYC content is not clear enough (yet). The skills and knowledge of NCA SME are also actively used within local and global NCA projects. Moreover, active support is provided towards regulatory tracks and controls, such as preparation and monitoring of internal or external (regulatory) NCA audits.

Due to the wide variety of activities, NCA SME do maintain frequent contact with all relevant stakeholders within the KYC end-to-end process, which includes and is not limited to CLM, Business, AFC and QA, Global NCA teams (policy, process, management), Audit.

A NCA SME within the NCA team is crucial to ensure compliance with KYC standards and to safeguard that these are applied in an adequate and consistent manner by the entire team.


Supporting and coordinating the AML/KYC training program to ensure that all staff of the NCA team is able to recognize operations that may be related to money laundering or terrorist financing. To ensure all NCA team members has an in-depth understanding of the DB KYC framework and educating the NCA team on this. This entails KYC policies, standards, desk-top procedures and other artifacts.

  • Cooperate with both local and international stakeholders to ensure that NCA standards are applied in a consistent an adequate manner by all NCA analysts.

  • Ensure local stricter regulatory requirements are identified and implemented into the KYC process.

  • Take lead and ensure appropriate follow up on 1st Line of Defence and 2nd Line of Defence QA programs.

  • Ensure (operational) delivery across product and business lines against agreed SLAs. KRIs and/or KPIs by processing transactions, events or data.

  • Liaise with other onshore/nearshore/farshore functions along the process chain to ensure effective and seamless end-to-end delivery of processes.

  • Manage (internal) client relationships to ensure an ongoing dialogue around service level agreements, product development, service improvement and the timely resolution of issues by responding to queries from clients promptly.

  • Identify change needs, assessing the impact of the change, capturing and documenting requirements and ensure that those requirements are delivered by IT.

  • Highlight and escalate operational, regulatory and other risks to management or risk functions.

  • Assisting with execution of internal and external (regulatory) audits, escalations, and investigations on KYC issues, where appropriate.

  • Supports the NCA team with the QC process and on the certification process of uncertified checkers.

  • Preferably, Bachelor degree

  • 3-5 years of working experience within financial industry

  • Preferably, in-depth (KYC) knowledge and experience with knowledge sharing

  • Fluent in Dutch and English language

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Knowledge of various financial products and instruments.

  • Ability to work with strict deadlines to satisfy our clients with appropriate decision making skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to relate to different type of people in different environments.
