Join us and start doing your life's best work.SMThe PSS welcomes, greets, interviews patients and/or representatives in person or over the telephone to ensure their initial experience with Fox hospital is exceptional; the PSS will also obtain the required demographical and insurance information to ensure proper billing/reimbursement to the hospital. Secure required signatures from patients and/or representatives to protect hospital's interests. Provides excellent patient experience for guests with a high level of professionalism.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the AIDET model and displays AIDET principals through their interactions with others
  • Greets patients and others in a welcoming manner and ensures that they understand the registration process
  • Ensures a timely registration process for all patients
  • Ability to provide coverage for all areas within the Registration Department including all shifts in the ED (24/7)
  • Secure required signatures from patients and/or representatives to protect hospital's interests
  • Educate patients of their financial obligations and refer cases for financial counseling
  • Answer multi line telephones and direct to appropriate area
  • Bed Access - Transfer patients to applicable care beds upon request
  • Secure payment for services and balance cash drawer
  • Provide Switchboard Coverage for lunch/breaks
  • Directs and escorts visitors to proper room(s)
  • Completes ED Log sheet of all patients who present to the ED (Name, Area, Tele#, Age, Sex, Acct# & MR#, In Time, Out Time, MD/PA, Mode of Arrival, Chief Complaint, Discharge Diagnosis, Discharge Code, F/U Doctor Information)
  • Contact internal and external specialist/hospitals at the request of medical staff. Fax and/or email patient charts to primary physician and/or referring doctor upon request
  • Complete/Update Physician "On Call Schedule" daily and distribute to medical staff
  • Provide excellent experience for all patients and visitors

    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
    • 3+ years of customer service experience or equivalent

      • Associates degree (or higher) in Business, Healthcare, or related field Physical and Work Requirements:
        • Generally sedentary
        • Ability to move around facility and to other facilities for cross coverage, hospital meetings, etc.
        • Position requires bending and sitting
        • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
        • Ability to handle high volume in a fast-paced environmentSoft Skills:
          • Excellent communication skills, ability to remain positive in any situation, knowledge of PC's w/proficient keyboard skills, positive and friendly manner, good spelling, written and oral communication skills
