Job Description

The Med Surg Licensed Nurse Assistant (LNA)/Unit Clerk works collaboratively under the direction of the Staff Nurse and Charge Nurse and the pharmacist. The Unit Clerk/LNA is a combined role responsible for quality clerical services on the patient care unit and when needed providing the best care possible while ensuring patient satisfaction in every interaction.
This role is generally the first point of contact representing the Med Surg Tele unit and as such, requires excellent customer service skills to ensure quality interactions with patients/families and other team members. The Unit Clerk/LNA also provides a bridge to ensure effective communication occurs among team members and seamless coordination of patient care.

Qualifications

High school graduate with additional course work in; medical assistant or unit clerk training preferred.
Unencumbered LNA license
Excellent attention to detail
Current certification in Basic Life Support (we could provide)
Knowledge of medical terminology -helpful.
Proficient in handwriting, spelling, and comprehensive reading.
Highly motivated with ability to function in stressful situations.
Neat and appropriate appearance.
