Responsibilities:Related Management has an exciting career growth opportunity for an experienced Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist within our dynamic team. The ideal candidate would be a detail oriented individual accustomed to working on a deadline driven schedule. This positon will work remote and report to the Director of Compliance. This person must have the ability to function autonomously while also working in conjunction with coworkers located in other areas of the country.Responsibilities of the Compliance Specialist include:The Compliance Specialist position is remote and requires travel throughout New York at least once per month, as well as, on an as needed basis (may include up to 25% travel)Monitoring and implementing changes in HUD and LITHC regulations and requirementsMaintaining proper maintenance of tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy according to HUD and LIHTC regulationsDetermining financial eligibility for all new admissions into the affordable programProcessing new applicantsMonitoring of waitlists, and EIV master binders for compliance with federal regulations and requirementsAssist and review all 8823's corrections and correspondenceMonitoring of re-certification notification letters in compliance with HUD and LIHTC regulationsPerform training programs to educate and inform the site teams of requirements and responsibilitiesRemain familiar with current U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ever changing Federal Regulations as they relate to Affordable Housing programsCompensation:$65000.00 - $75000.00 per yearBonus eligibleBenefits:Personalized Health Care: Multiple medical, dental, and vision plan options; Employee Assistance ProgramFinancial Benefits: Competitive salary and incentive packages; matching 401(k); FSAs and HSA; employer-paid life and AD&D insurance; paid leave & disability programsSocial Wellness: 19+ days of PTO; mental health counseling & resources; fertility, surrogacy, and adoption assistance; volunteer days and donation matchingCareer Development: Learning & training programs; tuition & certification reimbursement; internal advancement opportunitiesQualifications:3-5 years' experience with Project Based Section 8 HUD, LIHTC and other affordable housing program complianceKnowledge of HUD 4350.3, EIV, Reasonable Accommodation Requests, LIHTC income limits and rent calculations, Fair Housing, Real Estate LicensingA deep sense of community awareness and a determination to make improvementsProven ability to build trust with members of a community with different backgrounds, motivations, and concerns in order to obtain information and solve problemsCOS certification minimum required, HCCP preferredWork Environment:Preferred location: Remote - New York State areaThe Compliance Specialist position is remote and requires travel at least once per month, as well as, on an as needed basis (may include up to 25% travel)Please note that Related has adopted a COVID-19 vaccination policy to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees.
