Job Summary:
The Traffic Control Supervisor will work with members of the construction team to ensure smooth operations of all daily assigned paving projects. This individual will perform a wide variety of tasks associated with the laying down of asphalt. On the job training is available for the right candidate.

Essential Functions:
Protect Family and Friends. Make safety an everyday mindset demonstrating zero tolerance for safety violations and by leading safety programs. Take corrective action immediately and perform all functions in a safe manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. One must perform field maintenance and job site safety and cleanliness, wear proper PPE, and have a thorough knowledge of, and commitment to, industry best practices.
Respect and Engage. Treat all members of the team equally by nurturing an environment that is diverse, inclusive, and professional. Communicate respectfully with State inspectors, engineers, crew members and the traveling public to align with Peckham's mission, vision and values.
Ownership and Caring. Coordinate the setup of traffic control patterns in towns, counties, NYSDOT projects and NYS Thruway projects, perform routine maintenance and inventory of traffic control materials (i.e. cones, signs, windmasters, etc.), and maintain and charge radios and other communication devices to foster a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements, Education and Experience:
Flagger certification required
Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Control Supervisor Certification required
Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
High School diploma or GED, preferred.
Ability to work variable hours including day shifts, night shifts, some weekend hours, and overtime.
Legal right to work in the U.S.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100lbs or more. This position works outdoors in most types of weather including high heat, and inclement weather. This position works near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, sitting, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
