Job Summary: This individual will operate a cement spreader on road construction projects in Towns, Villages, Counties, and for State DOT's. The operator will perform basic maintenance and cleaning on the distributor, load it with material at a central location, and drive it to individual projects within the work region (multiple states). A high level of coordination and awareness is needed for this position. Essential Functions: Protect family and friends. Communicate effectively with crew members and operate equipment safely and efficiently while wearing proper PPE. Be part of a Safety Culture that fosters openness, innovation, idea sharing, and actions to improve while maintaining a thorough knowledge of, and commitment to, industry best practices and leading safety programs.Communication. Communicate effectively with laborers on the crew to achieve optimal applicationsEfficiency. Perform Routine and preventative Maintenance to equipment to maintain optimal usage.Mastery. Apply dry cement to surfaces at specified rates while driving, load and unload cement from the cement spreader, and mobilize the cement spreader between job sites in order to achieve production targets. Requirements, Education and Experience:1. CDL Class B with air brake and tank endorsement, required2. Experience in the asphalt paving industry, preferred3. Proficient verbal and written English4. Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
