Job Description:
Departmental Summary: - We build, enhance and playout the Edit +
Animation + Graphics Innovation + Playout team's world-class
designs, utilizing the most state-of-the-art graphics technology in
the industry. - We are partners with all studio and event
productions to showcase statistics and sports information around
the clock to enhance our visual storytelling. - We are constantly
evaluating and adapting our workflows while staffing for maximum
efficiencies.Position Summary: Executes graphics on an intermediate
level using ESPN developed playout applications for event and
studio productions. - Maintains quality of ESPN's on-air product
for daily/nightly studio and event
productions.Responsibilities:
- Operates ESPN developed playout applications for live studio
and event productions
- Works independently on studio and event assignments
- Enforces studio and event formats of ESPN's networks and its
promo look
- Ensures the accuracy and timely preparation of graphics on all
productions
- Able to effectively communicate across the organization to
report technical problems. - Must also be able to clearly
articulate source of problems in defective equipment reports
- Required to work flexible hours and days as production
assignments dictate including weekends, nights and holidays
- Reviews daily schedules and ensures prompt arrivals for
assignments
- Maintains administrative records including shift assignment
reports and other required documentation
- Reads and responds to email notifications and other
company-supported communication tools
- Upholds production support responsibilities when necessary
- Trains new hires on various studio productions
- Fulfills Show Lead responsibilities on multiple productions,
including thorough graphics documentation, workflow efficiencies,
and communication with peersQualifications:
- Able to perform at an intermediate level with functions of
Windows-based playout applications
- Two or more years of on-air graphics systems playout experience
in a major market or at the network level -
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications
- Thorough sports knowledge is preferred -
- Candidates must be highly motivated, willing to work unusual
hours and must demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to
meet ever-changing deadlines
- Must be accurate spellers and possess strong communication
skills
- Must have reliable transportation to workPreferred
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates versatility on all studio shows including
international productions
- Proficient understanding of production terminology, control
room etiquette, and overall professionalism
- Proficient understanding of the various graphics packages and
operational proceduresRequired Education:High School Diploma or
EquivalentPreferred Education:College degree in Communications,
Television & Video Production, Multi-Media, Sports Broadcast
