OVERVIEW Our client is seeking--an Junior--Business Analyst to join--the Strategic Operations--team to help with the--implementation, improvement, and training of programs and processes across the organization. The--Strategic Operations team--supports--our client in the successful improvement--of existing processes--and launching of new programs,--processes--or systems.--It does so by: * Improving existing processes, systems, and structures through Lean and re-engineering practices. * Assisting in the implementation of new technologies and programs that meet market and strategic objectives, while leveraging common client's business processes and delivery models, to achieve scale and performance expectations. * Building capacity with the teams through training Empire Belts, Liaisons, and other staff on Best Practices, Lean Principals, Systems, and client Processes. The--Junior Business Analyst will be supporting the Strategic Operations--team by developing supporting requirements documentation and training materials, as well as helping to drive tool and system adoption by working with teams to train them how to use readily available tools and processes. LOCATION This position is--currently remote due to COVID--procedures, the candidate must have access to high speed internet, computer,--and--phone. The Team is--located in Albany, NY--and once--staff return to the--office,--this position is expected to be located in the Albany Office. WORK SCOPE Responsibilities: Knowledge,--skills--and abilities: * 1-3 years of experience in a Business Analysis role * Experience in documenting requirements and specifications, and creating visual aids representing business processes using standard methods. * Experience with project management methods processes, standards, and tools. * Ability to elicit functional needs from business users and translate those needs to existing functionality to avoid customization wherever possible. * Skill in managing multiple diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy, and strong judgement. * Ability to help identify and drive the best possible solution when presented with a series of opportunities and constraints. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group. * Customer orientated, with active listening skills and the ability to understand and define and--document business needs comprehensively. * Basic understanding of Salesforce, SharePoint 0365, JIRA, or PeopleSoft a plus The--Junior--Business Analyst must be able to communicate effectively and: * Work with functional business leads and other business analysts to develop and transform requirements into systems design and implementation. * Collect, document, map, and analyze business process and system dependencies. * Gather, synthesize, and document business requirements. * Effectively communicate status, collaborate, and problem-solve with relevant stakeholders. * Collaborate with colleagues to identify recommendations for process improvements, overcoming constraints, and resolve difficult operational and technological issues. Identify and report risks to management. * Document changes to the design and implementation of various systems which includes but not limited to: Salesforce, SharePoint O365, and PeopleSoft. Manage ongoing support requests and research / document the needs behind those requests. * Work directly with and serve as the liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams. * Assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategies and risks. Provide significant contributions in the testing and debugging of new functionality. * Assist in the development of training resources to support implementations. * Assist in the improvement and integration of automation and tools designed to support work and decision making. * Recommend leveraging existing functionality that might be available rather than building new. Expected Deliverables a) Business Process Maps b) Business Requirements c) Status Reports d) Training resources Experience Level: The Contractor should be able to demonstrate the following qualifications * 1-3 years of experience in a Business Analysis role--or setting * Interest and experience in energy and energy efficiency * Prior experience in government is beneficial, but not required * Experience and skill in discerning true requirements stemming from needs as opposed to business units' less critical wants and wishes.
