DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC DUTIES IN A TYPICAL WORKDAY FOR THIS
Child support systems collect and distribute $1.7 billion in child
support annually for 900,000 families. The ASSETS project replaced
the CSMS on-line component of this system and expands on current
functionality to enhance child support collection and payment.
ASSETS interfaces with the Unified Court Management System (UCMS)
and Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement QUICK (Query
Interstate Cases for Kids) systems. The ASSETS project team is
upgrading the underlying framework of the system in response to a
critical finding from an IRS audit, as well as pursuing system
enhancements to improve program area performance.
1. Write Business Documents for a variety of application features
including but not limited to use case diagrams, flow charts, data
element tables, mock-up screens using Expression / Balsamiq and
swim lane diagrams and maintaining them in a software document
2. Work closely with development and architecture staff to refine
requirements and assist them in the creation of technical designs
and specification documents. The candidate will be expected to
provide insight that results in greater efficiency in a variety of
child support system processes.
3. Guide joint application design sessions, present and participate
in requirements solicitation meetings and interviews, requirement
reviews, feature demonstrations and presentations of draft and
production features to key users and local staff at conferences and
4. Work closely with testing staff to ensure tests of developed
application modules conform to requirements and will be called upon
to participate in testing to accomplish scheduled implementations
of new features.

them into application and operational requirements using recognized
business analysis methodologies (e.g. business process flows,
fit-gaps analyses, functional designs, etc.).

functional requirements, use cases and interface designs. Developed

sessions: collaborating with developers and subject matter experts
to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between

that the implemented functionality meets the required
specifications. Design experience to include developing the test
scenarios, scripts and data.
